 Samuel, do you have a log file of your dblatex installation?  Or maybe can
 you retry to install dblatex to get one?  The code to check for existing
 files in the Portfile is present even if you don't use `+mactex`.  Maybe
 there's a typo or thinko somewhere for the `+mactex` variant that makes
 `kpsewhich` not find the corresponding files.
