 Making the mpstats port depend on the curl port would not help at all,
 because mpstats does not use curl from the command line, but uses the
 libcurl support built into macports base, which by default (i.e. unless
 you build from source yourself and reconfigure the build) uses the system
 libcurl.

 Discussions have been ongoing for yesrs now as to whether base should ship
 and use its own curl version, in order to address these sort of issues on
 older OSes. There doesn’t appear to be any consensus on it though…
