 the default +accelerate variant always worked before, and works on every
 single system except Monterey. So this is new info.

 And (AFAIK) nobody has tried to fix the accelerate variant yet - maybe
 it's easy, maybe it's impossible, nobody knows yet.

 So give it a bit.
