 Oh, but wait, this is (maybe) a cmake issue, and we're in the middle of a
 ticket about libuv. So ... if we're going to fix a problem with cmake,
 that should be a separate ticket.

 unless your gcc7 is just hosed because of a libgcc11 upgrade issue or
 something of that nature, which is entirely possible.
