Comment:

 Sorry for the extended delay on this, I was away for five months.

 In short, this occurs when there's a mismatch between `glib2` and `gtk2`.
 Specifically, it looks like you may have `glib2 +quartz` installed.

 So you need to install `gtk2 +quartz` as well.
