 I also confirm that multiple ports that exhibit this bug inside MacPorts
 build (gettext, m4) don't seem to have any problems configuring when I do
 them separately from MacPorts.

 eg "m4" configures without any problem just on it's own, but fails inside
 a MacPorts build.
