 Note that, AFAIK, nothing in `legacy-support` currently honors
 `_USE_FORTIFY_LEVEL`, so the `#undef` approach would be consistent with
 that, and honoring `_USE_FORTIFY_LEVEL` should be considered an
 enhancement.

 The fact that `R-nloptr` is opportunistically choosing an inappropriate
 SDK is also a bug, but it shouldn't cause this failure.
