 I am not familiar with vala, but I thought the idea was that if you want
 to use libproxy from a program written in the vala language, then you need
 these vapi bindings. If that's so, if you're trying to make a port for
 such a program, you'll want to be able to depend on a ''port'' (or
 subport) that provides those bindings. You can't depend on a ''variant''
 of a port without hacks like the active_variants portgroup so it should be
 avoided and hence why I have been recommending creating a subport not a
 variant.
