 Using the complete path name of convert or convert.orig makes no
 difference, the executable returns instantly – because the login shell is
 /usr/bin/false? This is also true on MacOS High Sierra and Sonoma, where
 everything succeeds.

 Performing the tests from somewhere else and with my own id all succeeds
 as well.

 There must be a bug in MacPorts setup on Tiger…
