 The 12/14 date is right about when I switched from the Intel-based Mac
 Mini to an Apple Silicon Mac Mini. It's entirely possible that the first
 attempt to install was done on that system (Sorry - that was over 2 weeks
 ago - can't be more specific than that). And if that config file stayed in
 place until I ran the 'clean' command, then that seems to explain what
 happened here.
