 No, but that wasn't necessary in this case for you to be informed.

 When the dsa key was deprecated (in 2015), it would have stopped working
 and you would have had to read the upstream documentation to find the
 workaround to re-enable it. That upstream documentation indicated support
 would go away in the future.

 In any case, the maintainer has said they'll accept a PR, so if you're
 really interested in a variant that will let you go one more year before
 the support is totally removed, you're welcome to create one.
