 OK, thanks a lot, will test as soon as I have access to this old Mac box
 again.

 Would it be possible to improve `port` so that it (a) doesn't try to
 download from github because git is too old (i.e., it should tell that the
 user), and (b) make it emit a warning that maybe the requested file is not
 available yet on the mirrors?
