I'm no expert, but I think anyone who wants to DBs with Perl would know
about the differences between MySQL, MariaDB, PerconaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.

I am needing and "using" this Perl module only because I want to check
whether Perl 5.38 would be able to become successor of Perl 5.34. And in a
chain reaction one Perl module requires another one, one of them two other
ones, and both a cascade of much more.

One problem I've seen while playing with my set of Portfiles for Perl
modules on PPC Tiger, Mac OS X 10.4.11, is that possibly none of the
mentioned DBs can be built there anymore. Some substitute might be useful
 – at least for testing. (Or a setup when a DB on a more up-to-date Mac
could be used instead, but this has to fail, since the path to the build
and test area is longer than allowed for a communication socket.)
