 doesn't use ld_classic that is now causing "make check" to fail when gmp
 is built with gcc14. Exactly that.

 Perhaps turning it off for Xcode 16 already is a bit early. I could be
 persuaded to roll back a bit the change in GCC14 and only limit it for
 Xcode 17 or newer.
