 Yes, I didn't trust xcode-select after reading kencu's posts above, so I
 downloaded the CLT directly from https://developer.apple.com/download/all/
 . That, plus uninstalling and reinstalling MacPorts itself to make sure
 everything that failed was totally cleared out, fixed my port building
 issues.
