> Existing software relies on pygobject's pc file. The subports of the py-
gobject3 port used to install it. The upstream repository still contains
it. It doesn't seem reasonable to expect all software that relies on this
pc file to be changed to no longer rely on it. Instead, it seems best for
the py-gobject3 port to once again install the pc file. If it currently
doesn't do so due to a deficiency of the build system, that could be
reported to the developers of pygobject so they can fix it. I haven't
tried changing the port to build with meson instead of the python
portgroup but I suspect it might not work. The python portgroup does many
things to ensure python software gets built in a consistent way in
MacPorts. Not using that portgroup might mean the port won't build or
won't install things in a way that will work for other ports.
I know, I know, I know... I'm sorry for the delay on this, I've simply
been swamped at work until very recently. I'll try to move this to the top
of my priority list, over the next few days.
