 Update: I finally had a chance to look at the project, and it still
 includes the capability to install the .pc file. However, that
 functionality is disabled, when building as a Python wheel.

 So I'll try to get this figured out over the next day or so, and commit a
 fix.

 And again, I apologize for the delay on this!
