 My question would be - why is python313 a hardcoded dependency for meson?
 Can't it work with, e.g., python312 or 311?

 To the OP - it would help providing more details, and including "main.log"
 that Macports would point at in its failure report.

 As a ''possible'' workaround - check if you have OpenSSL installed, and if
 so - whether it has {{{legacy}}} provider enabled (if it is - disable
 {{{legacy}}} provider).
