 Thanks for your suggestions and your time. I'll check out the pre-compiled
 binaries as well as the stack space. The Cube is equipped with 1,25GB of
 RAM (hopefully soon when the 512MB mem arrives the full 1,5GB) so
 hopefully there is enough. Of course it makes sense that if the stack size
 is too small trouble may arise. Dunno if gcc(++) uses recursion or a vast
 number of call levels.
 So I let it compile for another night.
