 I added some dtruss captures from both binaries to the GitHub issue.

 There are almost no differences as far as I can see, so I don't think it's
 related to other configuration.
 I'm still looking but except for the directory locations of the binaries
 there doesn't seem to be
 any file or library one is reading that the other isn't.   So I think the
 issue is in the build.
