Thanks a lot, that did it.  I guess the last time selfupdate rebuilt  
macports it linked against the broken Tcl library (no idea where that  
came from . . .) :-/

Sorry about the post with no subject, Mail.app was giving me trouble  
and when I copied and pasted my message into a new window I forgot to  
copy my subject.
