rsync daemon down?

I can't ping it locally, either:

chloe:~ eweaver$ ping rsync.macports.org
PING rsync.macosforge.org (17.254.17.246): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: No route to host

But it works from the Linux machines. And somehow port 80 works
locally. Very confused here.
