"man port" not working?

I have the symlink.
If I add /opt/local/man and not /opt/local to my MANPATH, it works.
If I use /opt/local/share it does not work.

Thanks.  I think I'll set my paths back to Apple defaults, then have scripts to adjust for Fink and Macports.
