Cleaning macports dependencies list

Apologies if their is an easy answer to this...
After I run
port upgrade outdated
I run
port -f uninstall inactive
Running the uninstall command shows all the dependencies that are
ignored.
How do I clean up the dependecies list so that only the installed
ports are referenced?
(this is not really a problem...I just want to know how to do it)
