MacPorts is listed on Apple's web site:

I don't think any further promotion is appropriate, since for most  
Mac OS X users, MacPorts is still a bit complicated. MacPorts' ease- 
of-use needs to be improved before any push is made to get the masses  
to use it.

Apple already hosts MacPorts on Mac OS Forge and several Apple  
employees help develop it.
