A lot of these are there already you can use

port contents perl5.8

to see a list of the files installed with the basic perl (after you have
installed it)

and

port search p5-

will give you a list of other perl modules available such as

p5-compress-zlib
p5-digest-md5
p5-email-valid
p5-net-dns
p5-time-hires

to pick just a few quickly -- you get the idea
