Except that you say it as a blanket statement even though you've been
shown at least one case where the port requires the newer version (svk).
I agree that sometimes a maintainer might mistakenly add an
unnecessary dependency, and it's good to get those things fixed (and I
do appreciate it when you or anyone files bugs to that effect).
