Updated Gnucash doesn't handle preferences continued

I am refering to the following discussion:

Recently I upgraded to Gnucash 2.2.9 and gconf 2.26.2_0. The problem
persists and I had to manually deactive the current gconf and activate
2.24.0_0 for Gnucash to "remember" its preferences.
