gimp snow leopard problem

There is a problem with gimp installation on Snow Leopard described here:

I actually don't need gimp for now but I need ufraw package, which tries to
install gimp as dependency or something.


Is there any chance to workaround the problem with gimp or install ufraw
without installing gimp?
