KDE4 mess on Snow Leopard

Hello,

I got also rather frustrated to see that I could not get kde to work
on SL. Therefore, I started looking in kdebase4-runtime, and it seems
that
not so much of the code is linked to Qt3Support.
- In kpasswdserver, there is one instance of Q3PtrCollection
- In knetattach, Q3Wizard is used, but QWizard was reintroduced in
Qt4.3, so that the dependency on Qt3Support is artificial
- khelpcenter, however, is heavily using Qt3Support.

Therefore, having a kdebase4-runtime running (without khelpcenter)
could seem reachable, eventually.

However, by testing the parts of kde we can get for now, I noticed
that even though kdelibs4 is compiling with the patches proposed in
the tickets of Macports, kdeinit4.app is quitting unexpectedly with:
kdeinit4: (klauncher /opt/local/lib/kde4/libexec/klauncher) Pipe
closed unexpectedly.

I did not search yet what could be the problem for now, but is anyone
else seeing this one ?

Cheers,

Nicolas
