This is a DNS error.  And, in fact:

   mress:21033 Z$ host rsync.opendarwin.org
   Host rsync.opendarwin.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

(I'm also dubious about "opendarwin.org", although perhaps I shouldn't  
be.)
