Installing AucTeX without TeXLive dependency

Hi!

I found this https://trac.macports.org/ticket/21503 and added the line
depends_run-delete    bin:tex:texlive
to the auctex portfile on my system. But now i get an error

checking for latex... NONE
configure: error: LaTeX not found, aborting!
You must install LaTeX for preview to work.

Any suggestions?
