For some *real* eye-openers, look for discussion of archival by Andrew Hume
and of disks by Greg Ganger and various other current and ex- Panasas
employees.  In particular, Andrew now regularly computes and compares
multiple checksums to make sure what he wrote out is what's written to disk.
