Yes, sure, your base MacPorts software is at the current version, but that doesn't tell us anything about the version of the individual ports that are on your system.

Did you run "sudo port selfupdate"? After that, does "port info octave" still show version 3.2.3? I updated the port to version 3.2.4 in r67191 on May 1, so if you haven't selfupdated since then, that explains why you don't have the port definition for 3.2.4.
