failure building OpenJDK6

OpenJDK6 is failing to build on Snow Leopard.  This is a new install of
MacPorts and the first time I've tried to installed OpenJDK6 from macports
in my environment.

I have found the following ticket and appear to be having similar issues to
this defect but no resolution appears to have been found or at least
documented that I can find.  Can someone please help me resolve this?
