firefox-x11 does not open

Hi Porters,

I installed firefox-x11 today and when I attempt to run it all I get is:
Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing on display ":3.0".

and a unusable urxvt until I ^C.
I see that the warning there is harmless, so I have no idea why firefox just
hangs. and I'm not entirely sure what other information to provide, sorry
for the lack of help!
