terminate installation by ctrl+C

As long as it's not activating (or deactivating) a port it is safe; if it's
still building, or staging ("installing" to a working tree), it's safe.  If
you are not running in debugging mode, any activation / deactivation phases
are obviously announced; they can be buried in verbose output though.
