I first executed the following:

sudo port -v selfupdate

which chugged along and successfully concluded. Then I followed the
instructions in the successful conclusion by issuing a:

sudo port -v upgrade outdated

and after a couple of hours, got the following error along a snippet of
the last few lines before it crashed and burned:

To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
     http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets

Any suggestions as to how to proceed short of just filing a bug report?
The system is a dual 2GHz PPC tower running 10.5.8 with all patches
applied (i.e., Software Update reports that all software is up to
date). Thanks in advance.
