MacPorts only provides the current version of a port unless there's a known reason to avoid the upgrade.
The instructions to have MacPorts install old packages are rather verbose, but they are pretty easy. You look at the changes to the package on our website, and then you download that version of the Portfile. In that directory with that downloaded Portfile still named Portfile, you can run `sudo port install` and that version will be installed.
That's it.
