Does MacPort come with an alternative GCC for compiling Ruby 1.8.7 with RVM

Are you looking to compile Ruby yourself? MacPorts does have ports for generic GCC 4.2 through 4.7, as well as Apple's custom versions of GCC 4.0 and 4.2.

If you opt to install MacPorts' Ruby port, MacPorts will automatically install GCC if necessary.
