any good audio/video editing apps in macports?

/Applications/MacPorts for native apps, yes, because that way they can be
found.  Also, launchd plists must be installed under /Library/LaunchAgents
or /Library/LaunchDaemons depending on whether they run as the user or as
root.  Those are the primary exceptions to the /opt/local rule.
