Side effects?

Hello everyone :)

To execute powerful commands (for MacPorts) in Terminal, can cause  
negative side effects? (disturb the drivers of smart card readers, the  
display adjustment, etc…).

Recently my –loved– computer has started suffering some little such  
kind of problems for which I find no explanation.
