gnome-terminal profiles

if anyone *knows* then the answer will save me ages of spelunking. I already spent an hour or two …

Where does gnome-terminal store it’s profiles?
I’ve looked in all the predictable places!

PS OT but may help someone: Despite mail->preferences->composing->spell check [never] mail *still* fools with your words. System Preferences->Language->text allows you to succeed
