macports or meld issue?

Do you have dbus running?  `port notes dbus`
dbus has the following notes:

You can thank Apple for crippling their servers: they promise to fix them--one day. In the mean time, you probably downloaded from a mirror overseas.

I’d start with the error you have in the pastebin: dbus probably isn’t started.
