Migrating to Yosemite---cannot run 'port -qv installed' after OS upgrade

If there's a missing dependency that's used, upgrade will pull in files from the old (possibly broken) packages to build new ones. 

Uninstalling everything first then building, or using trace mode for upgrade, eliminates this possibility.
