GIMP 2.8.14 on Yosemite Does Not Recognize Image File Types

Yet...somehow the developer of GIMP for OSX at
http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/News/News.html was able to solve this
problem.

The same version of GIMP 2.8.14 works flawlessly, and guess what, it
loads all plugins and recognizes all image formats.

Perhaps someone should reach out to lisanet.de and find out how they did it.
