Where are texlive-fonts-recommended stored?

The only important thing is that LyX uses the right compiler
(/opt/local/bin/pdf[la]tex or whatever compiler you are using). It
should then pick up the fonts automatically via kpsewhich. Perhaps try
to make sure that LyX sees /opt/local/bin in PATH.
