My first question would be: what's in sources.conf?

P.S: Please use the lists.macports.org hostname when addressing your mailing list messages. The old hostname you used was retired in 2016. Mail to the old hostname forwards to the new one, but some users cannot see those forwarded messages because of restrictions imposed by their email providers.
