As the ticket says, maybe the developers have already done it; if so, we just need to update to the fixed version. If we cannot update to the fixed version, we could backport their patch. If the developers have not fixed it, someone should report it to them so they can fix it, or someone could fix it and provide the fix to them.
While it may be trivially easy for “someone” to fix the error, or “someone” to determine whether the developers have already done it, or “someone” to report it to them, I lack the expertise (and perhaps the intelligence) to be that someone. At this point, the developer website describes an old version being available in MacPorts and provides a link to the MacPort kmymoney4 and kmymoney4-devel ports.
Anyone following that link will for kmymoney4-devel (v. 4.8.1) hoping to install it will run into the error. I assume kmymoney4 (v. 4.7.2) will also fail.
If I am the only MacPorts user of kmymoney4, then remove the port. Otherwise, someone younger and smarter than I please do what is necessary.
Note: the current stable Mac version of kmymoney5 (5.0.8) was built Dec. 11, 2019 by the Jenkins bildbot[?] and, except for some cosmetic differences, works. I do not use the online banking features, however. I have had no problems going back and forth between my currently installed (but outdated, can’t update) kmymoney4-devel and the Jenkins-built kmymoney5.
