specifying a makefile

How do I perform a "make -f FILE" in MacPorts?

While I don't know if it's the way to do, I presently have this working:
build.cmd           "cd src && make -f makefile.osx"

I did it that way because I didn't know how to get -f to work and  
build phase was ignoring the fact that I set the worksrcpath to inside  
src/
